World Wetlands Day
World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on Feb 2 to raise global awareness on the value of wetlands for our Earth and therefore for everyone. This year’s theme is Wetlands and Climate Change. Climate change is the world’s most challenging problem. Wetlands and Climate Change, the theme to celebrate World Wetlands Day in 2019, draws attention to the vital role of wetlands as a natural solution to cope with climate change.

Wetlands are disappearing fast but remain important places for lots of wildlife. Come to Sheldon to help restore an area of our wetlands in the park and learn about all the neat things wetlands provide!
9:00am Wetland Plant Rescue
-Join park rangers while we rescue plants from one part of the park to be placed in a section of our restored wetlands! All supplies provided. Be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy!
2:00pm Hip Hop Habitat
-Love frogs? Learn all about how healthy wetlands provided needed habitat and refuge for these amazing amphibians! We will hit the trails to look for some frogs and toads and play some games to put your frog skills to the test!
