Alarming Facts

  • Regular consumption of soda sugary drinks is linked to numerous health problems including diabetes, heart disease, asthma, COPD and obesity.
  • Bisphenol A (BPA) is widely used in the inner lining of metal cans, soda cans, and other food packaging. BPA is toxic to all of us!
  • Most canned foods contain unhealthy ingredients including extra salt, sugar and/or preservatives.
  • In 2012, approximately 38.2 billion aluminum beverage cans ended up in U.S. landfills, the equivalent of 121 cans for every American man, woman, and child.
  • The can material is made of aluminum and the aluminum is produced from Bauxite ore.   Mining of bauxite is a dirty process which involves destruction of trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, animals, and biodiversity.  This causes erosion, sedimentation build up in rivers and streams, drinking water pollution, and farmland degradation.
  • Red mud left behind after bauxite processing is highly toxic.
